Meadow House Studios lives within Hope Roots Collective, a space devoted to healing during the week and creativity on the weekends.
In late 2024, Ren & Leah purchased this 1929 farmhouse on nearly two acres in the heart of Johnson County. Since then, they've been lovingly restoring both the home and it's land, bringing back it's quiet, natural beauty. Every board, brick, and bloom carries a piece of history - from the original 1929 wallpaper uncovered beneath two layers to the hand-tended, sprawling gardens.
Meadow House is more than a studio. It is a continuation of Hope Roots' mission to nurture connection, creativity, and restoration in every form.

Every room inside Meadow House is shaped by light. Large windows fill the space with soft, natural illumination from morning to dusk, creating a gentle glow that flatters skin tones and adds warmth to every frame.
Textured walls, historic 1929 wallpaper, curated furnishings, and original farmhouse windows offer a range of moods — from cozy and intimate to timeless and editorial.
The Creative Commons expands your options even further, giving you flexible backdrops, movable props, and a space designed for experimentation. Indoors, every corner becomes a story waiting to be told.
Step outside and you’ll find nearly two acres of unexpected beauty, all just steps from the front door. The private meadow shifts with the seasons — tall prairie grasses catching golden hour light, wild textures creating cinematic movement, and open space offering endless compositions.
The vintage barn, weathered timber, and time‑worn brick paths add grounding contrast and character, while the old‑growth trees — twisting twins, giant evergreens, grand oaks — provide year‑round structure and shade.
Whether you’re photographing seniors, lovebirds, families, branding, or editorial portraits, the outdoor spaces give you multiple aesthetics in one convenient location, with seating options and natural elements that make every session feel effortless and inspired.

Guests can feel at ease the moment they arrive with snacks, beverages, and a welcoming lobby. Between outdoor shots, everyone can warm up, cool off, touch up hair/ make up, or just take a breather inside the farmhouse. Comfort isn’t an afterthought here, it’s part of the creative experience.

Everything you need is just steps from the door. Park right beside the building, clients can change outfits in a spacious bathroom, and keep your gear in one place while you move between indoor and outdoor sets. No long walks, no hauling equipment - just an easy streamlined session flow.

Curated interiors, flexible furnishings, a private meadow, vintage barn, brick paths, and old-growth trees offer multiple looks in one location. Whether you're aiming for cozy, wild, timeless, modern, Meadow House gives you endless ways to create and capture it all without ever leaving the property.
